Ready for Anything
I'm a fan of David Allen's; I make no bones about it. I just bought Ready for Anything and quickly finished up The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner so I could start this. Of course, being in a book-binge mode I have 5 other books sitting there next to Ready for Anything. A few are web based and a few are just for fun novels.
The subtitle is "52 Productivity Principles for Work & Life." I think that's what I liked so much about his earlier book. Work and life go hand in hand. That's perhaps especially true if you own a small business, consult, or freelance. I am the business. I do what I do because I like it, not because someone tells me to do it. So I want to be as efficient as possible so I can get more done because it's all fun! Well, not all, but you know... a lot of it! I wrote an article a long time ago called "Smart and Lazy Software Development" but really, smart and lazy is my ideal for just about anything, from writing to paying bills to web design. Why do things the hard way when with just a little focus you could get more done with less effort?!
